Another Air disaster averted yesterday as IRS aircraft makes emergency landing

Another air disaster was averted yesterday afternoon when an IRS Aircraft made an emergency landing in Kaduna. A Fokker 28 plane, carrying 89 passengers from Lagos to Kaduna, developed hydraulic problems few minutes before landing at the Kaduna airport.

The aircraft's front tyres refused to come out during landing, forcing the pilot to land without them. Fortunately no one was injured.

The Managing Director of IRS, Yemi Dada, later explained what happened to reporters. He said:
"The pilots received a low hydraulic warning minutes before landing, and this affected the landing gear, nose wheel steering, brakes, cargo doors, thrust reverser and the flight controls."

Heart Touching Story, to keep you in a Perfect State of Mind... A Must Read to All.

I stumbled on this heart thrilling story, forwarded to me by a friend, so I decided to share it with all my BSB Readers... The story goes:
While a man was polishing his new car, his 6 yr old son picked up a stone and scratched lines on the side of the car. In anger, the man took the child's hand and hit it many times; not realizing he was using a wrench. At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures. When the child saw his father.....with painful eyes he asked, 'Dad when will my fingers grow back?' The man was so hurt and speechless; he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times. Devastated by his own actions.......sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches; the child had written 'LOVE YOU DAD'.The next day that man committed suicide. . .Anger and Love have no limits; choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely life..... Things are to be used and people are to be loved. But the problem in today's world is that, People are used and things are loved.... In this year, let's be careful to keep this thought in mind: Things are to be used, but People are to be loved. Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits they become character;Watch your character; it becomes your destiny. Please send this story to anyone you know! You may save a life!....

PHOTO: Woman who Nurtured Wande Coal Stardom – Omolara Ojosipe

For every successful man, there is always a woman, and behind the downfall of everyman too, there will always be the traces of a woman. In the instance of sensational Marvin Records superstar, Wande Coal, there is a woman who is the solid rock behind his musical relevance. The woman, Mrs. Omolara Ojosipe, his mother, recently had a brief chat with us where she reluctantly revealed how she nursed Wande Coal to stardom.
How did you nurse Wande Coal to stardom?
It’s God . He started in the church choir when we were in Redeemed Christian Church, the source of inspiration for his career is God and I always tell him to return all glory back to God. And whatever the challenges that comes along, he should just tell God, “I have not called myself, I didn’t put myself in this position, you did so, God see me through”. So, we have learnt to rely and put everything in God’s care. It’s not any human effort but God. I am not so righteous to have such a star as a son but God has decreed that, whosoever He chooses to bless, He blesses.

Abducted Libyan Prime Minister regains Freedom...

Libyan prime minister Ali Zeidan today said that he is 'fine' after being freed by militants who kidnapped him from a hotel in Tripoli and demanded that he resign.
The kidnapping was carried out by a militia this morning in revenge for the government's role in the capture of a top Al Qaeda suspect by U.S. troops.
But Mr Zeidan was released six hours after he and two of his guards were snatched from the Corinthia Hotel, where he lives, and returned to government headquarters.
After regaining his freedom, the prime minister tweeted: 'I am fine, thank God. If the aim of the kidnapping operation was for me to present my resignation, then I won't resign. We are taking small steps, but in the right direction.'

Nigerian Female Billionaire, Folorunsho Alakija, Defeats Oprah Winfrey To Become Richest Black Woman In The World

photo
Step aside Oprah, Nigerian oil tycoon Folorunsho Alakija is now the richest black woman in the world with an estimated fortune of $7.3 billion.
Africa boasts of 55 billionaires - far more than previously thought - and they're worth a staggering $143.88 billion in total, according to pan-African magazine Ventures Africa.

Starting her career as a secretary in a bank in the mid 1970s, Alakija, 62, then studied fashion in London and returned to Nigeria to start a label, Supreme Stitches. But her biggest break came in oil.
In 1993, her company, Famfa Oil, was awarded an oil prospecting license, which later became OML 127, one of the country's most prolific oil blocks, by then-president Ibrahim Babangida.
The company owned a 60 per cent stake in the block until 2000 when the Nigerian government unconstitutionally acquired a 50 per cent interest without duly compensating Alakija or Famda Oil.
