According to Premium Times, the Special Taskforce on Jos
crisis has announced that it has arrested the suspects that set ablaze two
campaign buses of President Goodluck Jonathan in Jos yesterday.
The spokesperson of the STF, Ikedichi Iweha, announced the
arrest in a telephone interview with journalists in Jos on Sunday, but declined
to state the number of people arrested.
A witness to the arrest, however, said six people were
arrested and that some of them might not have been involved in the incident.
The attack has however been condemned by both Mr. Jonathan’s Peoples Democratic Party, and the president’s major challenger, Muhammadu Buhari, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who called for the arrest and prosecution of those involved.
