Breaking! Nigeria Gets First Female Governor

 

This is goodnews. Indeed, "what a man can, a woman would do too"... Hajia Aisha Jumai Alhassan, a serving senator and former AttorneyGeneral/Commissioner of Justice of Taraba state and candidate of the All Progressive Congress is set to be declared the elected governor of the state following election results that gave been collated. Hajia Alhassan is leading her main opponent, the Darius Ishaku, a former minister by a wide margin which signifies that she would eventually emerge the winner as collation has been reportedly concluded as at the time of filing this report.

She would make history as the first elected governor of the federal republic of Nigeria. The closest the females had was the stint stay in office of Dame Virgy Etiaba who was in office briefly following a sham impeachment of her Principal, Governor Peter Obi who was later reinstated. Hajia Alhassan is
the elder sister of Senator Abdulazeez Ibrahim(1999-2007) who contested for the governorship sit in 2011 but lost to Danbaba Suntai.
